Brian Tsuyoshi Takeda from Restorae will present various restorative, nature-based solutions from around the world exploring conventional and alternative funding.

Funding service provider: Ross Brooks, Katapult Ocean

Ross Brooks from Katapult Ocean will discuss the role of venture capital in nature and restoration.

Moderator: Wenting Chen, NIVA

Wenting Chen from NIVA will introduce the topic with examples of Norwegian living lab cases and moderate the discussions.

The session will include expert insights and live discussions. The audience will have the opportunity to ask their questions in the chat. If time allows they will be answered live, otherwise they will be answered in follow up.

In this edition we are working together with Network Nature+’s Task Force 3, C-Blues, and MAREA Project.

About the webinar series

The NbS Financing Pitch & Match series aims to:

  • Bridge the Gap Between Endeavours and Investors: Facilitate connections between institutions with NbS endeavours (e.g. administrations, SMEs) and seeking funding, and financial institutions interested in NbS projects.
  • Drive Investment and Scale: By connecting stakeholders and providing realworld examples, we aim to increase investment in NbS, supporting the EU Nature Restoration Act and sustainability reporting initiatives.
  • Leveraging cooperation and synergy: By working together with related projects and initiatives, we aims to maximize impact and outreach for NbS cases that are still in need of financing.

NetworkNature+

​​​​​​NetworkNature is a resource for the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) community, creating opportunities for local, regional and international cooperation to maximise the impact and spread of Nature-based Solutions. It will maintain and add to a diverse and science-based repository of evidence on NbS, strengthen partnerships and foster new relationships around a clear, strategic framework for action. 

Task Force 3 focuses on exploring NbS finance, investment mechanisms and business models from the perspective of co-creation and co-finance.

C-Blues

C-BLUES seeks to enhance knowledge and understanding of Blue Carbon Ecosystems (BCEs), including emerging BCEs like natural and farmed kelp systems, and increase BCE inclusion in national greenhouse gas inventories and reporting under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
