Dr. Fabiola Schneider is Assistant Professor in Accountancy and Ad Astra Fellow at University College Dublin, specializing in climate finance, sustainability reporting, and related policy with a focus on how the financial system supports the transition to a sustainable economy. Her research on fossil fuel financing, emission disclosure, and green regulation is published in leading journals, and she serves on the editorial board of the Carbon Management Journal. Actively engaged in European and international policy and standards, she contributes to ESMA’s Sustainability Standing Committee, the European Commission’s Platform on Sustainable Finance, and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Scope 3 Technical Working Group. She co-leads GreenWatch, an AI-driven initiative targeting greenwashing, and contributes to the EU Horizon Nature-3B Consortium to develop nature-focused financial tools. A sought-after public speaker, she has delivered keynotes including for BaFin (Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority) and shares her expertise globally through conferences and media, including in the Financial Times.
