NATURANCE consortium invites participation in the upcoming virtual innovation webstival, focusing on nature-based insurance and investment instruments for ecosystem restoration as part of climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction. This fully online event takes place over three days, from 11 to 13 February 2025, and combines different forms of engagement including keynote talks, technical panels, workshops, break-out discussions, and policy dialogues.
The webstival will explore innovative financial mechanisms, including insurance solutions, biodiversity credits, and ecosystem restoration investments, that leverage natureās value in mitigating climate risks. Participants from financial organizations, risk experts, nature-based solution practitioners, and government representatives will review best practices, discuss sustainable investment and insurance finance principles, and raise awareness of the role of financial systems in promoting nature-based solutions for resilience and disaster risk reduction.
Moreover, the webstival will provide opportunities for skill building, and create a marketplace for matching demands and offers for innovative financial solutions at local and regional scales across Europe.
