Steinbeis 2i GmbH

Steinbeis 2i's (S2i) core activity is to promote European Research and Technology Development programmes and to support cross-border technology transfer. 
S2i supports SMEs on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. At the same time, it supports universities of applied sciences on behalf of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden-Württemberg. 
S2i is involved in several EU-funded projects (over 70 projects in 2019) as either partner or coordinator, taking over tasks related to dissemination, communication, exploitation or financial and administrative project management. 

Our role in the project

As a project partner, Steinbeis 2i has three main distinctive roles:  

  1. In administrative and financial management, S2i supports the technical coordination and operational processes of the project.

And in close cooperation with the other 14 project partners, S2i helps Invest4Nature reach a bigger impact by: 

  1. Communication and dissemination of Invest4Nature to the general public, means raising awareness on the project and its benefits to different members of society. S2i is responsible for the coordination of activities promoting the project and NBS as a measure against climate change to inform the larger community, inspire local authorities and policy makers, and encourage members of the academic community to promote the advantages of NBS, among others.
  1. Exploitation of project results by assisting project partners in transforming the project results to solutions ready for further use beyond the project period. S2i supports in the process of innovation management by defining pathways to market entry and development of business models.

  • Information regarding European research programmes and other EU funding possibilities

  • International partner search for partners in transnational projects and technology transfer

  • Support in transnational technology transfer

  • International conferences and information days concerning European research and innovation programmes

  • Dissemination, communication, exploitation and project management as active partners in EU-funded projects.
