Empresa Municipal de Ambiente de Cascais (EMAC) is the municipal company responsible for environmental management on behalf of Cascais town council, which is part of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. Its mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of Cascais municipality and improve the quality of life of its residents and visitors, while serving as a reference in the community.
As coordinator of one of five I4N Living Labs, EMAC collaborates closely on the collection of knowledge on stakeholder needs and market readiness for nature-based solutions (NBS). Based on this evidence, EMAC will support the co-creation of tools and solutions to increase NBS uptake in Cascais, including the development of a support and capacity-building strategy for nature-based enterprises. EMAC participates in the dissemination of project products and outcomes to ensure its wider uptake, while contributing to the overall management of the project from the living lab level.
